Psalm 1 : David's realization

God blesses those people who refuse evil advice and won't follow sinners or join in sneering at God.(Ps. 1:1)

I settle in and begin to read the Psalms, the last book in my Bible reading project.

David emphasizes this in Psalm 1. If there is a trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, there is also a trinity of Satan, the devil, and man, and within man there is a trinity of evil, sin, and arrogance.

David saw the sin that pride in man produces. When the pile of accumulated sins became higher than David's stature, he recognized evil itself. David himself was a lump of greed and pride, the cause of sin, and evil itself.

God embraces such a David. This is David's realization, and the centerpiece of Psalm 1. David was a shepherd, so he used the best way he knew how to express himself.

As God led David to greener pastures, I pray that He will lead me to the same place today.
