Psalm 19: David's realization
vv. 3-4: The story and message of God, though they make no sound, echo throughout the world and spread to the ends of the earth.
v. 12: Who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults.
v. 14: May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
The voice and message of God spread throughout the world, even without making a sound. Humans cannot even understand their own faults, much less hear God's voice spread to the ends of the earth. Therefore, unrepented sins are inevitable. In short, this is David's realization of the limitations of humanity. David only begins to pray properly in the final verse of Psalm 19. David wished for a relationship in which his words and thoughts would become those of God. Some may think of this relationship as one of unity between God and David, while others may think of David as belonging to God as a mathematical set. However, whichever way one thinks about it, it reveals a limitation. Humans must be saved.
