Psalm 25: God's Dilemma

Verse 11: Lord, for the sake of your name, please forgive the great sins I have committed.

David was in a desperate crisis. He prayed from the first letter, A, to the last, Z. He poured his desperate heart into each letter. Even if there were 100 letters in the alphabet, David might have contained his feelings in each one.

Yet David knows that his repentance is incomplete. Instead, he relies on God's name and God's honor. This is the turning point of his prayer. David, who had been pleading, "I made a mistake, please save me," handed over the hilt of the sword to God. God's hand was caught off guard.
