Galatians 6 (#2): What am I planting?
Galatians 6:7-8 : Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
◇ Who is God? God is the one who looks not at our outward appearance, but at our hearts. He judges us not by our looks, but by our inner selves.
People often hide their true selves in various ways. They may disguise their intentions with plausible words, conceal their motives with seemingly diligent actions, or inflate their worth with impressive credentials and connections. Sometimes, they even blind others with lies and deceit.
While such falsehoods may deceive people, they cannot deceive God. God is not swayed by outward appearances.
As the saying goes, "You reap what you sow." This is a principle established by God. Those who sow the seeds of deceit and falsehood in pursuit of their fleshly desires will ultimately reap the fruits of their dishonest actions.
How foolish is the person who plants onion and expects to harvest bean? To sow the seeds of deceit and injustice in pursuit of worldly desires, yet expect to reap the beautiful and good fruits of the Holy Spirit, is to mock and belittle God.
♧ God, what kind of seeds am I sowing? Help me not to deceive myself and become a foolish mocker of You! Holy Spirit, lead me in truth!
