1 Corinthians 16: The Tambourine That Makes You Dance

Verse 14: Do everything in love

◇ As Paul concludes his letter to the talkative and troubled Corinthian church, his final exhortation is to do everything in love. The only way to solve the many issues of the dynamic Corinthian church is through love.

Conflicts always arise where people gather. There is friction where people put in effort together. If people don't gather and put in effort, there would be no conflict or friction. The presence of conflict and friction can be seen positively as a sign of dynamism and vitality.

However, if it remains as mere conflict and friction, it is nothing more than a noisy tambourine. Instead of just making noise, the tambourine should bring people together and lead them. It should produce a cheerful sound that makes people dance. What is needed for this is love.

"Do everything in love”

♧ God, please help us to do everything in love. When we need to cover, help us cover; when we need to wait, help us wait; when we need to embrace, help us embrace; when we need to discipline, help us discipline in love! Holy Spirit, lead us in truth!
