Psalm 91: Is it God's condition or human condition?
Verse 14: (God says,) "Because he loves me dearly, I will deliver him. Since he knows my name, I will exalt him.
Verse 14 seems to be understood as a conditional statement. Loving God and knowing His name cannot be conditions, due to the inherent limitations of human nature. Human love, even when directed towards God, inevitably reveals its boundaries. Human wisdom cannot truly know the name of God. If love were the condition for salvation, there would be no one to receive it. The conditions and outcomes must be reversed. God's salvation and protection should be the conditions for humans, and loving God and knowing His name should be given as the results. Understanding this as a priority, God's salvation comes before human love for God. Psalm 91, like Psalm 90, also calls for a change in direction.
