Psalm 116: May the poet's hymn of thanks be mine

Verse 12: How can I repay the Lord for all his goodness to me?

Lord, I envy the poet's prayer. The poet has experienced your care. I desire that the poet's experience and praise of gratitude become mine as well. Like the poet, I too want to ponder and marvel at how I can repay the grace you have bestowed upon me. Lord, please stop pressing down on me now. Withdraw your hand that has been gripping and pressing. Instead, let your touch remind me of warmth once again. Do not expect unwavering faith from a mere human. Do not expect the faithfulness of 'in spite of everything' from a weak human. Instead of questioning all my sins, simply understand and embrace me.
