Psalm 145: Praise in Joy and Sorrow

Verse 17: 

The Lord is righteous in all his ways and loving in all his works.

This Psalm is a hymn composed in the order of the Hebrew consonants. This structure encapsulates the poet's innermost feelings. The poet yearns to praise God by employing every word and sentence at his disposal. The reason for the poet's praise is found in verse 17. The poet has realized that even in experiences that seem contradictory, God's actions are righteous. Ultimately, a song of praise bursts forth from the poet's lips. The poet praises in joy, and also in sorrow. This is because God's love is contained in all that God has done, in all of the poet's experiences. I envy the poet who sings in joy and in sorrow and want to emulate the depth of his faith.
