What if God's kingdom knows exclusion?
Today, the preacher's sermon was titled "An Open Heart for the Vulnerable," based on Matthew 10:2-16.
The preacher mentioned examples of vulnerable people from the time of Moses, Jesus, and today—specifically referencing the current situation in Palestine—emphasizing that the vulnerable exist in every era. They then introduced Jesus' interpretation of Moses permitting a husband to write a certificate of divorce as a minimal form of protection for women (wives). The Kingdom of God, as envisioned through Jesus' teachings, knows no exclusion. Those who exclude often do so to assert their own sense of importance or existence. Jesus asks, if the Kingdom of God begins with exclusion, what will become of you?
